Volunteer Information
Whether you are new to the Titan Band program, or returning this fall, we are very grateful that you have offered to volunteer your time in support of a great group of kids. With the exception of the Band Director and a few part-time paid positions, the booster program is run completely with volunteers like you who donate their time and talents to make the program work. Thank you! Band activities officially start up in August. We wanted to share a few important pieces of information before that time about what to expect as a volunteer, and how to be sure you have completed the necessary screening before that time. Keeping up with Titan Band activities Band news and events are shared and updated each week at the Titan Band Website. From here, you can sync the band calendar to your personal calendar, and download important forms. When Volunteers are needed, an email will be sent out through Charms, so please make sure your contact information is current in Charms. The email will have a link that you will click to sign up for that particular event.
Volunteer Screening
All adult volunteers must be approved through the Collier County Public Schools process. If you will be helping with concessions, you will need Level 1 clearance. If you want to travel with the band to football games, Level 2 clearance is required, which also includes free fingerprinting done by the district. If you have not yet gone through the process, please follow the link below to complete your application. *Chaperones: once you have submitted your volunteer application on-line, please email the band director, Mrs. Hamilton ([email protected]) to let her know. She will then make arrangements to have you fingerprinted at no cost by the district.
So what is in store for you as a volunteer? Here is a brief description of each position, and some of the great benefits of spending time with the band on Friday nights:
Level 1 –
Concessions Volunteers – you receive a free band shirt, and free meal every home football game! When the concession stand is open for freshmen, JV and Varsity home games, volunteers cook/grill, prepare food, or work to take orders and payments from customers.
Level 2 –
Chaperones – you receive a free customized chaperone shirt and a Golden Gate drawstring bag with supplies when we travel to away games. You’ll ride the school buses with our students, provide assistance when the band is in the stadium, and escort students to and from locations for away games and band contests.
Transportation and Equipment Set-up – you receive a free customized shirt and a free meal at every home football game. Helping with equipment set up means you get to be on the field, placing the drum major podiums before performances, and taking them down afterwards. While the students load the band trailer, we also need to get the trailer to and from our performance locations, so pulling the band trailer is also an important part of this job.
